CoolTone® Q & A
What is CoolTone®?
CoolTone® by CoolSculpting® is a new and innovative treatment to refine your figure by helping you firm and tone your muscles. Normally, it takes a lot of brainpower to participate in exercise. You have to consciously control your muscles to perform strengthening movements. With CoolTone®, you can exercise your muscles without an elaborate or strenuous exercise routine. CoolTone® works by stimulating your muscles and causing them to contract without your conscious effort. Using Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) technology, the device delivers strong currents of magnetic energy through your muscle fibers to cause their contractions. With just a few CoolTone® treatments, you’ll notice a marked difference in your muscle tone and strength. For optimal results, you can have CoolTone® in conjunction with CoolSculpting®. CoolSculpting® is an advanced fat-freezing treatment that reduces fat cells in regions where they’re hard to lose with exercise and dieting alone.
Which parts of my body can I target with CoolTone®?
At The Spa MD, longtime CoolSculpting® specialist & national CoolSculpting® trainer Kristen Grubba plans, performs, and supervises your CoolTone® procedures. Before you begin treatment, she’ll ask you about your goals and treatment areas you’d like to target. CoolTone® typically works well for strengthening and adding definition to your:
- Abdominal
- Thighs
- Buttocks
If you’re interested in CoolSculpting® in addition to CoolTone®, it can reduce fat in the same areas as well as others, like under your chin, on your back, your upper arms, bra fat, inner thighs, outer thighs, underneath your buttocks and on your flanks. Typically, Kristen recommends a series of four to six CoolTone® treatments to make a significant difference for your figure. She might also recommend having CoolSculpting® first to reduce the fat layer in order to reach the muscles so that your CoolTone® is most effective.
Am I a good candidate for treatments with CoolTone®?
The results of CoolTone® treatments are enticing to many, but not everyone is a great candidate for the procedure. If you’re interested in CoolTone®, you should book a consultation at The Spa MD to make sure the treatment aligns with your goals and that you’re healthy enough to undergo the treatment.
You might be a candidate for CoolTone® if you:
- Don’t have any implanted medical devices
- Are generally in good health
- Are not currently pregnant
- Are not currently menstruating
Potential side effects of CoolTone® include temporary muscle spasms and redness at the treatment site. In most cases, you can carry on with your day as usual immediately after a session. As with any treatment, Kristen will discuss potential side effects and what to expect during and after your CoolTone® session. Whether you currently exercise and want to increase your strength and tone, or you do not exercise and you want to use CoolTone® to jumpstart your new workout routine, CoolTone® could be ideal for you. CoolTone® is not intended to replace exercise; it is meant to be used as a tool along with your exercise.
